About This OpenAI GPT

OpenAI GPT puts OpenAI's GPT models to work inside your Caspio applications. Whenever records are created or updated, the extension automatically processes your data through the model and stores the AI response right back in your table. It is one of Caspio's AI Connector Extensions, which bring leading AI models into app workflows, with more extensions on the way.

How it works

  1. Configure a prompt that references your table fields.
  2. Select which records trigger AI processing (on insert, update, or both).
  3. Choose where to store the AI response.
  4. Activate. Done.

Getting started

OpenAI GPT extension is ready to use immediately. No setup, no coding, no external accounts required. AI requests are billed through Caspio Credits, which scale with usage. Enterprise customers who need greater control over usage and billing can connect their own OpenAI account.

Compliance

Compliance coverage for this extension is handled at the platform level. Caspio holds a signed Business Associate Agreement with OpenAI covering the API service behind this extension. For HIPAA-covered Caspio accounts, HIPAA-eligible AI processing is part of the platform agreement: there is no separate BAA to negotiate with the AI provider, and one less vendor relationship for your compliance team to manage. HIPAA, SOC 2 Type II, and GDPR compliance are independently certified annually, so the platform behind every AI step in your workflow is re-examined by independent auditors every year. Resource usage

The extension utilizes two types of resources:

  • Integration Calls: An agent makes 3 integration calls per task to send, receive, and log, with an additional call required for each optional file or attachment.
  • Credits: AI requests consume Caspio Credits based on model selection, prompt complexity, response length, attached files, web search usage, and the temperature, Top-p, and reasoning effort settings. When knowledge files are uploaded, storage credits apply: 50 credits per GB per day (prorated, minimum 0.01 credit/day). Knowledge files also consume additional credits when used to answer prompts.
